Towada Oirase Art Festival 2013: SURVIVE - Time Hoppers on the Earth -
Nobuhiro Shimura (born in Tokyo, 1982) is an artist based in Yamaguchi. Themed around “Directing light”, his work aims to create a new perspective on one’s familiar matters by overlapping real video images with ordinary scenes. In recent years, his representative work “Red Shoes” has led him to participate in a number of outdoor projects primarily held around public spaces, both domestically and internationally. His work is not restricted by place and can be freely exhibited in areas such as backstreets and art museums. Shimura has participated in exhibitions such as “Akasaka Art Flower” in 2008, “Koganecho Bazaar” from 2009 to 2011, and “AIMY2009 Nobuhiro Shimura Exhibition UKABE”, which was held in 2009 at the Grand Gallery of Yokohama Museum of Art and Art Information Center. He also took part in the Aichi Triennale 2010.
